Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher with an LBS1 Endorsement to join our dynamic educational team. In this role, you will play a vital part in creating an inclusive, engaging, and supportive learning environment for students with diverse needs. Your expertise will help foster academic growth, social-emotional development, and independence among students with disabilities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children while utilizing innovative teaching strategies and collaborative approaches. Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs, goals, and abilities Design and deliver engaging lesson plans across multiple subjects including literacy, math, physical education, and life skills, integrating learning technology and adaptive tools Provide specialized instruction for students with autism, developmental disabilities, hearing impairments (including deaf education), visual impairments, and other disabilities Utilize behavioral therapy techniques such as applied behavior analysis (ABA) and behavioral management strategies to support positive behaviors Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, counselors, and other professionals to support comprehensive student development Manage classroom environments effectively through classroom management techniques that promote safety, engagement, and independence Monitor student progress through assessments, standardized testing, and ongoing observations; adjust instructional methods accordingly Requirements Valid LBS1 Endorsement (Learning Behavior Specialist I) or equivalent certification in special education Proven experience working with children with disabilities in classroom or early intervention settings Strong knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and individualized instruction planning Excellent communication skills to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff effectively Familiarity with speech therapy techniques, literacy education strategies, math instruction adaptations, and recreational or therapeutic interventions such as music therapy or recreational therapy Ability to implement instructional design principles tailored to diverse learners including those who are visually impaired or deaf Experience working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, behavioral health concerns or in preschool settings is highly desirable Demonstrated classroom management skills coupled with a compassionate approach to working with children of all abilities Proficiency in learning technology tools used for instructional purposes and data collection Join us in shaping the future by empowering students through innovative teaching practices! Pay:
