Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Empower students to reach their full potential as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired supporting school-aged learners near the Champaign, IL area. This contract opportunity for the 2026-2027 school year offers the chance to make a meaningful difference for students with visual impairments in an inclusive educational setting. Enjoy a steady 35-hour work week as you collaborate with staff and families to ensure every child has access to the resources and instruction they need to thrive.
Qualifications:
Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) Experience providing direct instruction and support to K-12 students with visual impairments Strong understanding of adaptive technology, Braille instruction, and assistive devices Exceptional communication and teamwork skills for collaborating with educators, support staff, and families Ability to assess student needs and develop individualized plans for success
Responsibilities:
Deliver tailored instructional services and interventions to students with visual impairments in individual, small group, and classroom settings Consult with teachers and staff to adapt curriculum and classroom materials for accessibility Assess student progress, create and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals, and maintain accurate documentation Provide training and guidance on the use of assistive technology to both students and staff Advocate for student needs and foster inclusive, supportive learning environments This role allows you to make a valuable difference while enjoying the stability of a full school year assignment.
