Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher in a year-round school setting near Chicago, IL. This full-time, contract position begins in July to cover Extended School Year (ESY) programming and continues with consistent work throughout the academic year. You'll be instrumental in fostering growth for students in grades K-2, helping them build the skills they need for lifelong learning.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teacher certification Experience teaching students in kindergarten through second grade Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and related compliance documentation Strong communication skills with an ability to collaborate effectively with families and staff Dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to students with various learning needs Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in alignment with district and state guidelines Work collaboratively with support staff and related service providers Track and communicate student progress to families and educational teams Adapt teaching strategies and materials to foster success for every student Enjoy the stability of year-round employment and feel supported every step of the way.
