A dynamic opportunity is available for two full-time Special Education Teachers in Chicago, IL, specializing in inclusive education. This contract position offers educators the chance to make a meaningful impact by supporting diverse learners within inclusive classroom settings.
Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction and support to students with special education needs. Collaborate with general education teachers to implement inclusive strategies in 4th-5th grade inclusion and 6th-8th grade math inclusion classrooms. Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs. Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional methods accordingly. Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administration to foster a supportive learning environment. Maintain compliance with all special education laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
Possession of a valid LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist I) certification. Demonstrated experience teaching special education students, particularly in inclusive environments. Strong knowledge of instructional strategies for inclusion, especially in mathematics. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Commitment to student success and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
