Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity dedicated to supporting young learners on their educational journey. This contract position focuses on special education instruction in a vibrant school environment near Chicago, Illinois.
Two positions are currently available:
one supporting a Kindergarten class and the other working with 1st grade students. Both roles emphasize delivering primarily instructional classes, creating an inclusive and nurturing setting for students with diverse needs for the 2026-2027 school year.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education or related field Valid teaching certification in Special Education Experience working with elementary-aged students, specifically Kindergarten or 1st grade, is preferred Familiarity with IEPs and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for student success Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to students' learning styles and IEP goals Implement effective classroom strategies to foster engagement and progress Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, families, and support staff Maintain accurate records, including progress monitoring and IEP documentation Collaborate with general education teachers and specialists to support inclusion and student achievement
