Job Description

Category Schools - Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist Job Type Contract A specialized teaching opportunity is available for a professional with expertise in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education. This contract position supports students in a school setting, providing both direct instruction and consultative services tailored to their unique communication and learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver 100 minutes per week of direct instruction focused on Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. Provide 180 minutes per month of consultative services to support inclusive education practices. Offer Extended School Year (ESY) services from June 15, 2026, to July 24, 2026 (Monday through Friday). Provide Hearing Itinerant Services, including 100 minutes per week of direct instruction and 75 minutes per month of consultation during ESY.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Proven ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. Strong communication skills, including proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other relevant communication methods. Experience with itinerant services and consultative educational roles. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
