Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by supporting their educational journey as a Special Education Resource Teacher. This contract position serves young learners in grades K-5, providing vital resource programming to help them thrive in general education settings while receiving specialized instruction, interventions, and accommodations. You'll work alongside talented educators, utilizing a combination of push-in and pull-out models to deliver individualized education plan (IEP) support, focusing on executive functioning, academic skills, and access to grade-level curriculum.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Current Special Education Teacher licensure, in accordance with state requirements Experience working with elementary-aged students in resource or special education settings Strong understanding of IEP development, progress monitoring, and accommodations Familiarity with both push-in and pull-out instructional techniques Effective communication skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams Ability to tailor instruction to diverse learning needs and support executive functioning
Responsibilities:
Deliver resource programming that supports student participation in general education classrooms Implement and monitor IEP goals consistently throughout the instructional day Collaborate with general education teachers to modify curriculum, assignments, and assessments Provide specialized academic support, interventions, and behavior strategies as needed Facilitate small group or individualized instruction using evidence-based practices Collect data and document student progress toward IEP goals Communicate regularly with families to keep them informed and engaged in their child's progress This is a remarkable opportunity to empower elementary students to reach their fullest potential in an inclusive environment.
