Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a difference in the lives of students with special needs by taking on a rewarding special education contract opportunity for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year near East Peoria, IL. Multiple positions are available, including 8th grade self-contained, 6th grade inclusion (with some self-contained classes), and 3rd-5th grade self-contained classrooms. You'll collaborate with a supportive team to ensure each student receives the attention and tailored instruction they deserve. Your expertise will be vital from August 19, 2026, through June 4, 2027, working hours of 7:45 am to 2:45 pm.
Key Qualifications:
Active Special Education teaching certification is required Prior experience teaching or providing support in special education settings (self-contained or inclusion) Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Strong communication and teamwork skills Comfortable creating a positive, structured classroom environment Adaptable and responsive to varying student needs
Responsibilities Include:
