Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic contract role as a Junior High Special Education Teacher, supporting students and making a transformative impact each day. This full-time opportunity offers a Monday through Friday schedule with 37.5 hours per week, providing structure and balance for your professional and personal life. Located within reach of East Peoria, you'll join an engaging educational environment committed to student growth and individualized instruction.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teacher certification Experience working in junior high or middle school environments is preferred Strong communication and collaboration abilities Ability to provide both push-in and pull-out instruction to meet diverse student needs Passion for fostering academic and social development in adolescents Comfortable mentoring in math and language arts at the end of the school day
Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality, differentiated instruction to students in both inclusive (push-in) and resource (pull-out) settings Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff Document student progress and communicate effectively with parents and guardians Participate actively in team meetings and professional development opportunities Dedicate 42 minutes daily to mentoring students in math and language arts at the day's end
