Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Empower students to achieve their fullest potential as a Special Education Teacher in an engaging school-based setting near Gurnee, IL. This contract role provides a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of children and adolescents with diverse learning needs.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
Valid Special Education teaching license or certification (required) Demonstrated experience working with children who have a variety of disabilities and learning styles Proficiency in adapting curriculum and instructional techniques to accommodate individual learning plans Strong collaborative skills to work alongside general education teachers, support staff, and families Excellent communication, organization, and documentation abilities Passion for advocacy, inclusivity, and fostering a positive classroom communityKey Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and track Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations Modify and deliver curriculum tailored to each student's skill level and learning needs Create an inclusive, nurturing, and structured classroom environment that supports academic and social-emotional growth Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student development and coordinate services Maintain clear and consistent communication with families about progress and strategies for success Regularly assess and document student performance, making data-driven instructional decisionsPerks & Benefits:
