Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field, active Deaf & Hard of Hearing (DHH) certification, and 1+ years Deaf & Hard of Hearing Specialist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Make a difference supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing through engaging, impactful teaching roles in a welcoming educational environment. A rewarding contract opportunity awaits with two full-time positions open: one as an itinerant teacher providing services across multiple sites, and another based within a middle school setting. These positions span 37.5 hours per week and offer the chance to partner with dedicated teams to help every student achieve their potential.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
Valid certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education Previous experience as a DHH Specialist or Teacher Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to adapt teaching strategies for students' individual needs Comfort working either across various schools (itinerant) or within a single middle school Dedication to fostering inclusive, supportive learning atmospheres
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized educational programs for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to facilitate access to curriculum Monitor and track student progress, adjusting instructional plans as needed Engage and communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues Advocate for students' needs and accommodations within the school community Maintain thorough documentation and participate in IEP meetings If itinerant, travel between sites is required; eligible mileage is billable You'll find fulfillment in supporting students' growth, with a positive impact that extends beyond the classroom.
