Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist | Hampshire, Illinois

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field, active Deaf & Hard of Hearing (DHH) certification, and 1+ years Deaf & Hard of Hearing Specialist experience required. A rewarding contract opportunity awaits with two full-time positions open: one as an itinerant teacher providing services across multiple sites, and another based within a middle school setting. Desired Experience & Qualifications:

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement individualized educational programs for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to facilitate access to curriculum Monitor and track student progress, adjusting instructional plans as needed Engage and communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues Advocate for students' needs and accommodations within the school community Maintain thorough documentation and participate in IEP meetings If itinerant, travel between sites is required; eligible mileage is billable You'll find fulfillment in supporting students' growth, with a positive impact that extends beyond the classroom.
