About us We are a special education theraputic day school in Joliet IL
  • Job Overview:
  • We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal special ed teacher will have a passion for working with children, particularly those with autism and developmental disabilities, and will be responsible for providing specialized instruction to meet the unique needs of students. Must have an Illinois special education teaching license (LBS1).
  • Duties:
  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs
  • Provide instruction tailored to the individual learning styles and needs of each student
  • Collaborate with parents, guardians and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment
  • Utilize various teaching methods to engage students and enhance their learning experience
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
  • Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and growth
  • Requirements
  • Degree in Special Education
  • State licensed in Special Education (LBS1)
  • Experience working with children with developmental disabilities or special needs
  • Knowledge of early intervention strategies and techniques
  • Familiarity with alternative teaching methods for special needs students
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
