Job Description

Category Schools - Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist Job Type Contract A school district in Midlothian, IL is seeking a skilled Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist teacher to provide services during the regular school year and extended summer term. This contract position offers the opportunity to work closely with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, supporting their educational growth through direct instruction and consultative services.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver 100 minutes per week of direct instructional services to students with hearing impairments during the regular school year Provide 180 minutes per month of consultative support to classroom teachers and staff Conduct Hearing Itinerant Services for extended school year (ESY) from June 15 to July 24, Monday through Friday Provide 100 minutes per week of direct services and 75 minutes per month consultative support during ESY Collaborate with educators, parents, and specialists to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed to meet student goals
Qualifications:
Certification and/or experience as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Knowledge of best practices and strategies for educating students with hearing impairments Effective communication skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams Ability to provide both direct and consultative services in a school setting Commitment to supporting student success and fostering inclusive learning environments
Location:
Midlothian, Illinois This role is ideal for educators passionate about making a positive impact on students with hearing differences.
