Special Education Teacher

Qualifications:

Professional Educator License, LBS1 Certification, or ability to secure a short-term emergency Professional Educator License.

Basic Job Duties:

Utilize a variety of instructional, behavioral or remedial techniques to meet individual needs of students. Perform the appropriate screenings, assessments, and observations of communicative, academic, social, behavioral, motor, and independent living abilities of students. Assume responsibility as case manager for each student on caseload by providing and completing necessary information for IEP/EDC meetings; coordinate and monitor related services; implement individualized objectives to attain goals; monitor student progress and provide progress reports. Demonstrate effective classroom management by establishing and maintaining appropriate student behavior conducive to a productive classroom and/or therapy environment.
