Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Seeking dedicated individuals with a passion for supporting diverse learners to fill several contract positions as Special Education Teachers for the Extended School Year (ESY) program. These roles offer an impactful way to engage with students over the summer in a highly supportive environment. The assignments begin on May 27th and wrap up on June 25th. Workdays are Monday through Thursday, from 7:45am to 12:15pm, providing structured yet flexible hours ideal for professionals looking to make a difference while balancing other commitments.
Multiple openings are available:
one for early childhood, one for adult transition, and three positions for K-12 students.
Qualifications:
Valid LBS1 certification required Demonstrated experience as a Special Education Teacher Commitment to fostering inclusive and accessible learning environments Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and team members Adaptability to meet the unique needs of both early childhood and K-12 or adult learners
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs Deliver instruction aligned with students' IEP goals in a positive, supportive manner Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed Diligently document academic and behavioral performance Collaborate with other staff to ensure continuity of care and instruction Maintain communication with families regarding student progress and strategies for at-home support Whether your expertise is in early childhood, K-12, or transition services for young adults, your specialized knowledge and compassion will be central in helping each student continue progressing during ESY.
