Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Inspire growth and success as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year in a welcoming school environment located near Washington, IL. Multiple contract positions are available to meet various educational needs, starting August 19, 2026 and continuing through June 4, 2027.
Current openings include:
8th
Grade Self-Contained Classroom:
Hours are 7:45 am to 2:45 pm. 6th
Grade Inclusion Role:
Support students in the general education setting, with 2-3 designated special education classes. Hours are 7:45 am to 2:45 pm. 3rd-5th
Grade Self-Contained Classroom:
Hours are 7:45 am to 2:45 pm. You'll be part of a supportive staff community focused on student development and academic achievement, with a pay rate of $30-40 per hour reflecting your valuable expertise and commitment.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Current credentials and licensure as a Special Education Teacher in Illinois Experience with either self-contained or inclusion settings preferred Strong communication and collaboration skills with colleagues, students, and families Ability to adapt instruction and create individualized plans for diverse learners Passionate about fostering academic, social, and emotional growth in students with special needs
