Job Description

Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract A contract opportunity is available for an experienced Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to support students with visual impairments. This role is based in Brownsburg, IN, and offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students' educational growth and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction and support tailored to students with visual impairments. Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with educators and families. Conduct functional vision assessments and adapt materials to meet students' needs. Train staff and families on how to use assistive technologies and strategies. Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as necessary. Gather and manage caseload information to ensure comprehensive support. Collaborate with classroom teachers and support personnel to promote inclusive learning environments.
Qualifications:
Certified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) credential or equivalent. Experience working with school-aged students with visual impairments. Familiarity with assistive technology and Braille. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to student-centered teaching practices.
