Job Summary:
Eman Schools is seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Needs Instructor to join our passionate team of educators. As a Special Needs Instructor, you will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs. Your primary goal will be to facilitate their academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development in collaboration with other members of the school community, parents, and external support services.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the school administration, teachers, and parents to identify students with special needs and develop appropriate educational plans. Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine students' individual strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles. Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to address students' unique needs, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Provide direct instruction to students, utilizing various teaching strategies and methodologies to accommodate different learning styles. Adapt instructional materials and techniques to meet the diverse needs of students with special needs, including those with physical, cognitive, emotional, or behavioral disabilities. Collaborate with general education teachers to promote inclusive practices and facilitate students' integration into regular classrooms when appropriate. Implement behavioral intervention plans (BIPs) and support students in developing positive behavioral strategies. Monitor student progress through continuous assessment and modify instructional strategies accordingly. Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders to provide updates on students' progress, discuss concerns, and offer guidance. Collaborate with external professionals, such as psychologists, therapists, and counselors, to coordinate and integrate support services for students. Stay up-to-date with the latest research, best practices, and developments in special education, and apply this knowledge to improve instructional methods and student outcomes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Valid teaching certification/license in Special Education. Proven experience working with students with diverse learning needs, preferably in a K-12 educational setting. Strong understanding of various disabilities, learning disorders, and related intervention strategies. Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and external professionals. Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with students with special needs. Ability to adapt instructional strategies and materials to meet individual student requirements. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities. Proficient in using educational technology and software relevant to special education instruction.
