Job Description
Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Seeking an experienced educator specialized in providing tailored instruction to visually impaired students for a contract position in a school setting located in Fishers, IN. This role focuses on delivering individualized support and adaptive learning strategies to enhance students' educational experiences and promote independence.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement specialized curricula tailored for students with visual impairments. Conduct assessments to identify students' needs and monitor their progress. Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and parents to facilitate inclusive learning environments. Utilize assistive technology and adaptive tools to support student learning and accessibility. Provide training and resources to staff and caregivers regarding visual impairment strategies. Maintain accurate documentation and comply with educational standards and regulations.Desired Experience and Qualifications:
Valid licensure or certification as a teacher of students with visual impairments. Experience working with visually impaired students in an educational setting. Strong knowledge of specialized teaching methods, Braille, orientation and mobility, and assistive technology. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
