Our applied skills program supports students with disabilities in a primarily self-contained setting. As appropriate and with modifications, students access classes with their general education peers throughout the day and receive instruction in the applied skills room under the direction of the licensed special education teacher. Instruction focuses on core academic areas, independence/self-help, communication, classroom behavior, and adaptive skills. Applied skills teachers work closely with other special education staff, general education teachers, building staff, and parents to design an engaging, appropriately challenging, and inclusive learning environment within the building.
Licensing Required:
 Indiana Teaching License - Mild or Intense Intervention (or the equivalent) at the specified grade levels. Transition to Teaching or ASSET candidates will be considered with demonstrated steps toward an IDOE approved program. Questions? Please contact the Eel River Principal Brad.
