Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.Licensure:
Valid State Teaching Certification with an Early Childhood endorsement (preferred)Expertise:
Demonstrated knowledge of trauma-informed care and collaborative MTSS and family support systems. Reports to: The PreK teacher/B2S liaison works under the direction of the Director of Multi Tiered Systems of Support in conjunction with the assigned school principal and Director and Coordinator of Special Education.Job Goal:
The Preschool teacher and B2S liaison provides high-quality, trauma-informed early childhood education within a public school classroom while leading outreach for the Birth to School program. This role bridges the gap between the district and families with children aged 0-5, ensuring a seamless transition into the K-12 system.Performance Responsibilities:
Engage students in learning, manage student behavior in a positive, proactive and constructive manner for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment. Prepare students to become productive responsible citizens through positive proactive engagement and modeling. Create a flexible program and class environment favorable to learning and personal growth. Establish effective rapport with students, seek to meet individual student needs. Motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for continuing education. Establish positive relationships with students, parents and other staff members. Supervise students within assigned areas and as needed. Develop Lesson plans. Deliver group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines. Provide diverse learners with accommodations and modifications to ensure learning. At a minimum provide the legally required modifications and accommodations as outlined in each child'sIEP, 504
plan, Health Care Plan or other legally mandated document. Collaborate with other teachers, administrators to address instructional and/or classroom issues. Respond to a wide range of inquiries from students, parents, and guardians regarding the instructional program and student progress. Create and support a culture that empowers students. Encourage a culture of inclusiveness and support for all children. Provide attentive and dignified care for students, including managing nutritional needs through feeding, supporting hygiene and bathrooming/toileting, and supervising restorative napping periods. Design and implement academic, social, and behavioral learning experiences that align with state Pre-K standards and utilize developmentally appropriate practices. Facilitate B2S education and playgroups to foster school readiness and family connectedness before formal enrollment. Maintain data on B2S activities in the school district and the community. All other duties, responsibilities and professional development activities as assigned by the Director of MTSS.Terms of Employment:
