POSITION SUMMARY
The Lead Teacher supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. This full-time position supports the Childcare team through delivering age-appropriate educational programs and providing additional support to their fellow teachers and leadership team.OUR CULTURE

Ensure the safety of all children; maintain a high level of confidentiality. Never leave children unsupervised. Create and deliver age-appropriate curriculum, leading staff in interacting with and motivating children. Follow and enforce parent/guardian sign in and sign out procedures. Document attendance.Provide feedback and address concerns in a courteous manner, modeling active listening, reflection and response skills in all interactions. Resolve situations immediately by going above and beyond when opportunity exists. Provide upkeep of assigned program facilities and equipment. Obtain and maintain required training. Assist in supervision of assigned program staff and volunteers, including but not limited to ensuring adherence to work schedule, monitoring staff performance, and ensuring staff follows policies and procedures. Follow emergency procedures and safety precautions. Follow procedures for reporting all accidents, incidents and hazards. Adhere to all policies, rules, and regulations as outlined in employee handbook and other communications. Obtain and maintain required training(s). Accept additional assignments as deemed appropriate, within the scope of the job description. Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations. Obtain and maintain required training(s).
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum age 21 required. Current CDA Credential or an AA Degree in Early Childhood Education or a BS Degree in Elementary Education required or in the process of obtaining within the one year. Previous experience in child supervision and education preferred. Previous experience in supervision preferred.SALARY:
Minimum starting rate of $14 an hour Starting rate based on experienceSCHEDULE
