Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and thoughtful Lead Montessori Teacher / Directress to join our Children's House (ages 3-6) classroom. This is an opportunity to join a supportive Montessori community where respect for the child, beautiful environments, and purposeful work are at the heart of everything we do. About the Role As a Lead Teacher, you will guide a prepared Montessori environment that supports the whole child—academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. You will observe closely, follow the child's development, and present lessons with clarity, grace, and intention. Your leadership will help create a calm, respectful, and engaging classroom where children are empowered to grow at their own pace. Responsibilities Lead a Montessori Children's House classroom (ages 3-6) with confidence and care Prepare and maintain a beautiful, orderly, and developmentally appropriate environment Observe, document, and support each child's individual development Present Montessori materials through individualized and small group lessons Foster independence, self-discipline, and a strong sense of community Build warm, professional partnerships with families Collaborate effectively with assistant teachers and school leadership Maintain a peaceful, consistent, and respectful classroom culture Qualifications Bachelor's degree (BA preferred) Montessori Early Childhood (3-6) credential preferred or in progress preferred Calm, patient, and respectful approach to guiding young children Strong communication, observation, and classroom leadership skills Commitment to continuous professional growth What We Offer A supportive and collaborative Montessori community A thoughtfully prepared school environment rooted in Montessori principles Opportunities for ongoing professional development Competitive compensation based on experience and certification A meaningful role shaping the foundation of a child's lifelong learning journey We are looking for someone who sees teaching not just as a job, but as purposeful work that respects the child and the power of early childhood development.
