Job Requirements :
Indiana Special Education teaching license
Job Responsibilities:
Create, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with IDEA and Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) regulations. Deliver differentiated, research-based instruction tailored to students' academic, behavioral, social, and functional needs. Assess student performance using formal and informal tools and regularly monitor progress toward IEP goals. Co-plan and co-teach when appropriate, ensuring accommodations and modifications are implemented in general education settings. Complete required documentation accurately and on time, including case conference records, evaluation reports, progress reports, and service logs. Serve as a case manager and active participant in Case Conference Committee meetings, communicating effectively with families and team members. Develop and implement behavior plans, when needed, and support students with behavioral or emotional needs. Maintain regular communication with families regarding student progress, services, and support. Work collaboratively with speech-language pathologists, school psychologists, occupational therapists, and other service providers. Uphold confidentiality, adhere to Indiana special education law, and ensure all services align with federal and state regulations. Committed to Professional Learning Communities for school improvement. Conducts assigned activities from the administration, in conformity with the approved policies of the Board of Education and State and Federal Law. Participates cooperatively with the principal in performance evaluations. Performs other duties as assigned at the request of the superintendent, superintendent designee, or principal.
