Aug 3, 2026 Job Description Job Description Provide academic, behavioral, and functional support to students with special needs. The Special Education Teacher works to maximize student learning in academics, interpersonal skills, and activities of daily living while addressing individual student needs. This position supports the creation of a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. Essential Functions Participate in case conferences and assist in the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Conduct student assessments to help identify learning needs and areas of support. Recommend instructional strategies and develop appropriate interventions and corrective procedures. Assist in the implementation of IEPs and behavior management plans. Organize and maintain accurate and complete student records. Work with students across a variety of disability areas. Collaborate with classroom assistants and other staff to deliver services using a team-based approach. Consult with district staff regarding IEP goals and best practices in special education. Job Qualifications Indiana certification as a Special Education Teacher, or willingness to enroll in required licensing coursework to obtain Indiana Special Education licensure.
