Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Make a difference every day by helping students with hearing differences thrive academically and socially! This contract opportunity allows you to work across multiple educational settings, partnering closely with teams to provide expert instruction and advocacy for Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners from early childhood through high school. You'll collaborate with staff and families to break down barriers and unlock student potential, ensuring that accessibility and communication are never obstacles.
Key Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification/licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, or eligibility to obtain Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across a range of ages (early childhood through grade 12) Proficiency in sign language and/or spoken language facilitation Strong understanding of assistive technology, instructional adaptation, and IEP goal development Demonstrated ability to advocate for student accessibility and inclusion in both mainstream and specialized settings Excellent communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction tailored to individual hearing needs and strengths Adapt general curriculum and utilize assistive technology to support inclusive learning Facilitate communication with sign language, cued speech, or spoken language strategies as appropriate Support social and emotional growth, addressing both academic and social success Write and implement effective IEP goals, progress-monitor, and collaborate on multi-location caseloads Serve as a resource for staff and families, guiding accessibility and advocacy efforts district-wide
