Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Make an impact in the lives of students by supporting special education programs across two vibrant school communities near Emporia, KS. This full-time, onsite position spans the 2026-2027 academic year, providing the opportunity to serve both middle and high school students with diverse learning needs. Desired Qualifications & Experience:
Current Kansas Special Education teaching license required Previous experience working as a Special Education Teacher preferred Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families Commitment to inclusive education and adapting materials for a range of abilities
Role Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and facilitate interventions tailored to individual learning plans at both Emporia Middle School and Northern Heights High School Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Use assessment data to design engaging, effective instructional strategies Collaborate with general education staff to support student integration Cultivate a safe, supportive classroom environment that encourages student success Communicate regularly with families and stakeholders regarding student progress This contract opportunity offers the chance to work closely with students, educators, and families to foster academic and developmental progress over a full academic year.
