Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Make a meaningful impact by supporting students' academic and personal growth in a key Special Education setting. Two full-time contract positions are available for skilled educators passionate about providing high-quality instruction at both middle and high school levels. This opportunity will have you working onsite with committed teams at Emporia Middle School and Northern Heights High School, ensuring every student receives the support and instruction they need to succeed.
Qualifications & Experience:
Valid Kansas Special Education teaching license required Experience instructing and supporting students in special education settings Proven ability to assess student needs, develop IEPs, and implement individualized instruction Strong communication and collaboration skills with parents, staff, and administration Adaptability across grade levels (middle and high school)
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and support for students with diverse learning needs Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with other educational professionals Foster an inclusive and engaging classroom environment Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with state and school policies Communicate progress and challenges with families and support staff Participate in professional development and team meetings as required This contract role offers stability for the full academic year, meaningful daily variety, and the chance to help shape positive outcomes for students with special needs.
