Aug 1, 2026 Job Description Anderson County Jr./Sr. High School is seeking a dedicated and student-centered educator to serve as our Student Success Center Teacher. Exempt Position Purpose The Student Success Center Teacher provides a structured, supportive, and relationship-driven learning environment designed to promote academic growth, behavioral success, and postsecondary readiness. This position supports a diverse group of students, including those identified as at-risk, enrolled in credit recovery or online coursework, assigned to in-school suspension, or participating in the Anderson County Learning Center. The teacher plays a critical role in fostering student accountability, engagement, and skill development necessary for long-term success. Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities Provide a structured and supportive learning environment that promotes student success Assist students with coursework, credit recovery, and online classes Support the development of organizational, study, and time-management skills Address student social-emotional and behavioral needs using supportive, restorative practices Supervise and support students assigned to in-school suspension Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administration to monitor student progress and implement interventions Maintain accurate records of student attendance, behavior, and academic progress Communicate regularly with staff regarding student performance, needs, and interventions Support and monitor students enrolled in the Anderson County Learning Center (alternative program) Uphold school policies and contribute to a positive, student-centered culture Utilize data to inform instruction, interventions, and student support strategies Perform additional duties as assigned, including potential coaching, sponsorship, or extra-duty assignments Qualifications Valid Kansas secondary teaching license Ability to build positive, productive relationships with students Strong classroom management skills with an emphasis on structure, routine, and consistency Experience working with at-risk students, credit recovery programs, or alternative education settings preferred Ability to support diverse learning needs, including academic and social-emotional development Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills Familiarity with online learning platforms and progress monitoring tools preferred Physical Requirements / Working Conditions Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout the classroom for extended periods Ability to supervise students in various school settings Occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds Work in a school environment with frequent interruptions and varied student needs Evaluation Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of certified staff.
