Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful role making a real difference for students in and around Kansas City, KS on a contract opportunity running from August 2026 through May 2027. This position offers the chance to provide expert support as an itinerant Special Education Teacher, serving a variety of private parochial schools and additional campuses in the area. Ideal candidates will bring a passion for fostering inclusive learning environments and uphold the highest standards of professionalism across multiple school settings.
Key Requirements:
Valid and active Kansas K-12 teaching license for Special Education (must be current for consideration) Experience teaching in special education settings, preferably across varied age groups Strong organizational skills and adaptability—position requires travel between multiple school sites Excellent communication abilities for collaborating with educators, families, and support staff Commitment to individualized student support and differentiated instruction
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver and adapt specialized instruction according to student IEPs Consult and collaborate closely with classroom teachers and school teams Provide ongoing assessment, monitoring, and documentation of student progress Foster positive, supportive relationships with students and parents Move efficiently between assigned school locations, managing schedules and resources for multiple sites
