Special Education Teacher - Kansas City, KS Sunbelt Staffing - 3.8 Kansas City, KS Job Details Full-time 6 days ago Qualifications Teaching Certification Working with students with special education needs Special Education Certification Teaching Full Job Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. This contract position is for a full-time Early Childhood Special Education Teacher in Kansas City, KS, working with pre-K children. The role is based at a priority Early Childhood Center within the Kansas City area and requires a caseload size ranging from 8 to 18 students. The schedule encompasses 37.5 hours per week, with the contract running from ASAP through May 22, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of young children with special education requirements. Collaborate with parents, school staff, and related service providers to support student progress. Utilize evidence-based teaching strategies to foster development in communication, social skills, motor skills, and cognitive abilities. Maintain thorough documentation of student progress and participate in regular team meetings. Adapt curriculum and classroom activities to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
Qualifications:
Experience in early childhood special education. Ability to manage a caseload of 8 to 18 pre-K students. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations pertaining to special education. Valid teaching certification in special education preferred.
