Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity shaping young minds in an elementary school setting. This full-time contract role is designed for a dedicated Special Education Teacher passionate about making a difference with a focused caseload. You'll work closely with eight students as part of the LIFT Program, providing individualized support to foster both academic and personal growth.
Qualifications & Experience:
Must hold an active Kansas Low Incidence Special Education License Experience in elementary school environments is highly desirable Strong commitment to personalized instruction and educational progress Familiarity with adaptive curriculum and behavior management strategies Excellent communication skills for collaboration with colleagues and families Ability to document student progress and participate in IEP development
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality, tailored instruction to a caseload of eight elementary students Develop and implement individualized lesson plans focusing on each learner's unique needs Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student goals within the LIFT Program Foster an inclusive, nurturing classroom environment that encourages student participation and confidence Monitor, assess, and record each student's progress, adjusting strategies as needed Communicate regularly with parents and staff to ensure comprehensive support Participate in continuing education, team meetings, and professional development sessions
