Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting students' growth in an elementary school setting! We're seeking a passionate Special Education Teacher to take a lead position in our LIFT Program, focused on delivering quality education and empowerment for a small group of exceptional learners. This is a contract opportunity for a dedicated educator who thrives in an inclusive, supportive atmosphere. You'll work full-time with a manageable caseload of 8 students, providing targeted instruction and personalized support in a collaborative environment. Your commitment will directly impact young lives by fostering independence and achievement in a nurturing classroom.
Required Qualifications:
Active Kansas Low Incidence Special Education License Experience teaching in an elementary school or comparable setting Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach when supporting diverse learners Skilled at employing individualized strategies and collaborating with paraprofessionals and related services staff Excellent communication and organizational abilities
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver tailored instructional content to students in the LIFT Program Develop and implement IEPs in partnership with families and interdisciplinary team Track student progress and adjust plans as needed Foster a positive, structured classroom that prioritizes both academic and social success Engage actively in school meetings, professional development, and collaborative planning sessions Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and team members regarding student growth and challenges This opportunity provides a W-2 contract structure, competitive compensation, 401k participation, and a robust insurance and benefits package.
