Special Education Teacher in Overland Park, KS ProCare Therapy - 3.9 Overland Park, KS Job Details Contract 1 day ago Qualifications Teacher collaboration Working with students Special Education Certification Full Job Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Make a meaningful impact in elementary education by guiding and supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher in an engaging, inclusive environment. This contract opportunity spans the full academic year, beginning August 3, 2026, and concludes May 25, 2027. You'll be working closely with a manageable caseload of eight students in Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grades, with daily hours from 8:15 am to 4:00 pm.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Special Education teaching certification Previous experience in elementary special education settings preferred Knowledge of individualized education plan (IEP) development and data-driven instruction Ability to adapt lesson plans to meet diverse student needs Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and colleagues
Key Responsibilities:
Design and deliver high-quality individualized instruction within the LIFT program for assigned grade levels Create a supportive classroom environment that celebrates student strengths and fosters growth Develop, implement, and manage IEPs, ensuring legal compliance and personalized support for each student in your caseload Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to ensure cohesive educational experiences Track student progress and adjust strategies as needed to maximize academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth Communicate regularly and transparently with parents and guardians This position offers a rewarding opportunity to foster success and independence for elementary students in a collaborative and resource-rich atmosphere.
