Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher in an itinerant contract role for the 2026-2027 school year. This opportunity is ideal for a dedicated professional interested in working across a variety of educational environments. The position spans private parochial schools and additional campuses, creating a diverse, dynamic work experience where every day brings new opportunities to support K-12 students in reaching their full potential.
Qualifications:
Valid and active Kansas K-12 teaching license required Demonstrated experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably in both public and private/parochial school settings Strong knowledge of individualized education programs (IEPs) and team collaboration for student success Flexibility and adaptability in traveling to different school sites as part of an itinerant schedule Commitment to inclusive education and adapting instruction for diverse learning needs Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities
Responsibilities:
Travel between assigned private parochial schools and additional campuses within the area Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs for students with disabilities Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and families to ensure individualized supports Adapt curriculum and instruction to address a variety of learning styles and levels Maintain accurate records, data, and compliance documentation Provide guidance and support to school staff on special education best practices This contract role offers the chance to shape lives over the course of a full academic year, with a wide reach across multiple educational communities.
