Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Special Education Teacher in an elementary classroom setting. This full-time, contract position focuses on supporting a dedicated caseload of eight students in the LIFT Program, fostering individualized growth and academic achievement. Your expertise will help shape a supportive and inclusive educational environment where every student can thrive.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Current, active Kansas Low Incidence Special Education License Background in elementary education and knowledge of diverse learning needs Previous experience working within a special education setting is preferred Strong communication and collaboration skills with teachers, families, and support staff Commitment to creating personalized learning plans and adapting instruction
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver specialized instruction tailored to each student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Monitor progress, adjust teaching methods, and provide appropriate accommodations and modifications Collaborate with classroom staff and related service providers as part of a multidisciplinary team Maintain up-to-date records, assess student growth, and participate in IEP meetings Foster a compassionate, structured, and positive classroom environment Engage families in the educational process to support each child's success
