In this role, you will create an inclusive, engaging learning environment tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities, including those with autism, developmental disabilities, visual impairments, and other special needs. Your expertise will help foster independence, enhance communication skills, and promote academic growth through innovative instructional strategies and personalized support. Duties Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) aligned with each student's unique needs and goals Design and adapt curriculum content across subjects such as literacy, math, physical education, music therapy, and recreational therapy to ensure accessibility for all learners Utilize evidence-based teaching methods including applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavioral therapy, and instructional design to support behavioral health and learning progress Incorporate learning technology tools and assistive devices to enhance student engagement and facilitate communication Conduct assessments using standardized testing and formative evaluations to monitor progress and adjust instruction accordingly Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, counselors, and other specialists to provide comprehensive support for students' development Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques while maintaining a positive learning environment Provide mentorship and guidance to students with disabilities, fostering independence and social-emotional skills Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, IEP goals, behavioral interventions, and communication logs Support early intervention initiatives and preschool or toddler care programs to promote foundational development skills Requirements Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Child Development, or a related field; advanced certifications preferred Valid teaching certification/license for special education or equivalent credentials in your region Proven classroom experience working with children with disabilities in settings such as private schools or early intervention programs Strong knowledge of curriculum development tailored for students with autism, developmental disabilities, visual impairments, or hearing impairments Experience implementing behavioral health strategies including applied behavior analysis (ABA) and behavioral therapy techniques Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, colleagues, and external specialists Familiarity with learning technology tools and assistive devices used in special education environments Ability to develop engaging lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, math instruction, physical education, music therapy, and recreational activities Demonstrated classroom management skills that promote positive behavior and inclusive participation Passion for working with children of diverse backgrounds and abilities; compassionate approach to individualized support Join us in creating an empowering educational experience where every child can thrive!
