Immediately Job Description This position is for an itinerant Gifted and Talented teacher focusing on Grades 6-8. This teacher is responsible for following Kentucky State Gifted regulations, providing multiple service delivery options for formally identified Gifted and Talented students, creating positive classroom environments, establishing a strong culture of learning among students, creating and implementing high-quality, challenging instruction aligned to the Kentucky Core Academic Standards and NAGC Standards, implementing research-based and best practices in the classroom and focused on professional growth for the purpose of proficient student learning.Reports to:

StudentsJob Requirements:
Kentucky Teaching Certificate with Gifted Endorsement Master's degree with Gifted Endorsement Three years teaching experience, preferably gifted students, evidence of interest in working with gifted students Collaborates effectively across multiple school sites with grade-level teams, specialists, and support staff to share resources, align goals, and best serve diverse student needs. Demonstrates a deep commitment to managing rigorous administrative demands, meeting tight deadlines, and maintaining meticulous compliance records across all assigned responsibilities. Works highly autonomously, independently managing a split-site schedule, anticipating program needs, and solving problems proactively without requiring daily supervision. Brings a positive, high-energy approach to engaging students, building rapport quickly across different building environments, and motivating learners to reach their potential. Advocates passionately for every learner, demonstrating an unwavering dedication to identifying individual student strengths and providing the targeted support necessary for their growth. Actively participating in placement committees, facilitating evaluation teams, and building a strong presence across multiple school campuses. Ability to independently manage your own calendar, track hours across different sites, and adapt to the unique schedules of multiple school principals. Experience with curriculum compacting, acceleration, and project-based learning for advanced minds. Skill in identifying and teaching students who are gifted but also have learning differences Active collaboration with Special Education teams, English Learner (ELL) specialists, and 504 coordinators to co-create accommodations and support twice-exceptional or culturally diverse gifted learners. Ability to partner closely with general education grade-level teams to model enrichment strategies and co-plan differentiated tier-instruction. Capability to administer and interpret cognitive and achievement tests (e.g., CogAT, NNAT, Iowa Assessments). Responsibility for writing Gifted Service Plans and ensuring all paperwork meets state and district legal mandates. Facilitating or serving on school-based evaluation teams, alongside counselors and administrators, to review student data for program entry or exit. Understanding how to guide middle schoolers whose intellectual abilities outpace their emotional maturity. Working alongside school counselors and social workers to support gifted students navigating underachievement, intense perfectionism, and peer isolation. Experience leading district-wide parent workshops, navigating conflict resolution , and conducting professional development for school staff. This position is for the 2026-2027 school year. Salary based on board approved salary schedule for the 2026-2027 school year.Position Type:
