We are seeking a flexible, faith-filled Floater Teacher to support our classrooms in providing consistent, Christ-centered care and instruction. Whether stepping into a preschool room, assisting in elementary classes, or lending a hand wherever needed, this role plays a vital part in "helping little hearts grow in God's love together." The ideal candidate has a servant's heart, a joyful spirit, and a passion for nurturing children—spiritually, academically, and emotionally—within a loving Christian environment. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for students. This role involves developing and implementing engaging lesson plans, managing classroom dynamics, and supporting the diverse needs of students. The Teacher will play a crucial role in promoting literacy, social skills, and overall childhood development. Duties Demonstrate a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ in attitude and action. Encourage students in their faith journey through prayer, worship, and biblical conversations. Support the school's mission of creating a Christ-centered, grace-filled atmosphere.
Qualifications:
A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ High school diploma required; degree or coursework in Early Childhood or Elementary Education preferred Previous experience working with children in a Christian school, daycare, or ministry setting A heart for servant leadership, flexibility, and teamwork Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Develop and implement curriculum that meets the educational standards and fosters student engagement. Provide coverage and support across classrooms (preschool through elementary), stepping in for lead teachers during breaks, absences, or transitions. Assist with classroom management, small group instruction, play-based learning, and daily routines. Maintain a calm, patient, and loving presence, even in busy or changing environments. Build trusting, respectful relationships with students, teachers, and families. Encourage teamwork and Christlike character among students. Communicate effectively and positively with staff and leadership. Be available to serve where needed, sometimes with short notice. Support special events, outdoor activities, chapel, and school-wide functions. Adapt quickly to different age groups and classroom dynamics with grace. Create lesson plans that cater to various learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students can succeed. Manage classroom behavior effectively, establishing a positive and respectful learning environment. Provide individualized support for students with special needs through early intervention strategies. Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly. Foster communication with parents regarding student development, behavior, and academic performance. Collaborate with other educators to enhance the educational experience and share best practices. Maintain a safe and nurturing classroom environment that promotes child welfare and well-being. Skills Strong understanding of curriculum development and lesson planning techniques. Experience working with children in various educational settings, including preschool, daycare, or private schools. Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management strategies. Familiarity with literacy education practices, standardized testing, and tutoring methods. Ability to teach physical education or incorporate movement into lessons is a plus. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues. Experience in Montessori or similar educational philosophies is desirable.
