Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field, active Deaf & Hard of Hearing (DHH) certification, and 1+ years Deaf & Hard of Hearing Specialist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. An excellent opportunity is available for a skilled Teacher of the Deaf (TOD) specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education. This full-time, in-person position supports students with hearing impairments in an educational setting located in Adams, MA. The role requires expertise in developing and implementing specialized instructional strategies tailored to Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners, fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and group instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to create effective educational plans. Utilize specialized technology and resources to enhance communication and learning. Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly. Provide advocacy and guidance to promote student success and independence. Maintain accurate records and comply with all educational regulations.Qualifications and Experience:
Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf (TOD) or equivalent credentials. Proven experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in school settings. Strong understanding of language development, auditory training, and assistive technologies. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in an in-person, full-time role; part-time candidates with relevant experience will also be considered.Location:
