Job Description

Description The BRIDGE program is a specialized, intensive program based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis that serves students on the Autism Spectrum. The program consists of a special education teacher, supporting instructional assistants, and consultation from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Speech and Language Pathologist, and Occupational Therapist. The services provide to students in this program include a combination of discrete trial training, supported inclusion, small group activities, and incidental teaching. The goal of the program is for students to increase their independent skills in all areas, including academics, recreation, social, communication, self-care, motor, behavior regulation, as well as the generalization of these skills to new situations and environments. Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides team small group or individualized instruction and/or academic support according to the general and specific goals outlined in students' individualized educational plans within mainstream or pullout setting. Modifies and adapts the curricula, materials, and physical environment to meet the needs of individual pupils. Participates in Team meetings for pupils in the program or newly referred. Acts as Case Manager for designated students, providing close communication with parents and staff and preparing progress reports, annual review narratives and individual education plans. Attends designated school staff meetings. Submits budget request, and required status reports as requested. Qualifications Massachusetts Certification as Teacher of School Age Children with Moderate and/or Intensive Special Needs. Experience working with students on the Autism Spectrum. Strong knowledge of the principles Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Experience leading an ABA-based classroom preferred. Expertise in designing and implementing special education programs, including discrete trial teaching and data collection. Experience with creating individual programs for functional academics, pre-vocational skills, life skills, social skills and positive support plans. Experience with organizing and overseeing reverse inclusion groups. Supplemental Information
