Immediately Job Description Devens ESY Credit Recovery Teacher Everett Public Schools is seeking enthusiastic and qualified Special Education staff to fill multiple anticipated positions for the 2026 Extended Year Program. The Devens School Extended School Year (ESY) aims to provide social/emotional and academic support to promote and maintain academic skills and social-emotional development according to the goals and benchmarks of each student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and Crisis Support Plans (ICSP). Credit Recovery Teacher The Credit Recovery Teacher must be TCIS trained and will support current Devens High School students in successfully recovering academic credits toward graduation. Responsibilities include reviewing student transcripts, identifying credit deficiencies, and collaborating with students to develop individualized credit recovery plans. The Credit Recovery Teacher will provide guidance, monitor student progress, and offer academic support to ensure successful course completion.

  • SUMMER PROGRAM
    6/24/26 to 7/22/26 from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m, plus 25 hours of prep time

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plan and implement daily routines and developmentally appropriate activities for students in small group educational classrooms based on their IEPs and ICSPs.
  • Collect data on student's IEP objectives and report on progress at the end of the program.
  • Collaborate with ancillary services staff in the implementation of IEP services.
  • Advise and directly oversee paraprofessionals within their classroom.
  • Use best practices in ELA, mathematics, and other content areas that encourage higher-order thinking, critical thinking, and collaboration for students with disabilities.
  • Implement specific literacy-based strategies identified for summer school and participate in coaching opportunities to strengthen the implementation of the strategies.
  • Use the district's available technology and curricula to create engaging lessons and supports linked with 21st-century skills.
  • Manage classroom behavior with strategies that motivate students, support an inclusive learning community, and empower students to participate actively and appropriately in all program activities.
  • Incorporate Social Emotional Learning standards and curriculum that promote self-confidence, team-building, and informed decision-making.
  • Utilize inclusive practices that support students with disabilities and English language learners.
  • Communicate with student families regularly using culturally responsive strategies that promote two-way conversations.
  • Contribute to initiatives and events, which may be assigned by the Principal, Director of Special Education, and/or ESY Coordinator.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education and/or Liberal Arts
  • Massachusetts Teaching Licensure in Elementary Education, Early Childhood, Special Education, English as a Second Language, or related fields.
  • Certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention for Schools (TCIS)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's Degree in Education
  • 3 or more years of experience working with special education students
  • Current EPS employee in good standing
  • Dual Licensure and/or relevant experience in Special Education and/or English as a Second Language
  • Previous experience working in Extended School Year
  • Foreign Language Proficiency
