Summary:
\ Under the direction and supervision of the Director, the Lead Teacher will be responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of all classroom activities using the tools given by the Lowell Public Schools. The Lead Teacher is responsible for ensuring childrens social, physical, spiritual, and mental development in the program. The Lead Teacher will also assume Director responsibilities in the temporary absence of the Director.\
Essential Functions:
\
  • Planning, supervising, and implementing the program in accordance with the goals and policies of the YMCA.\
  • Being responsible for the safety of the children in the program always.\
  • Supervising teachers, teacher assistants, and volunteers in the classroom.\
  • Documenting attendance, absenteeism, and incidents for each child in compliance with EEC regulations.\
  • Effectively communicating verbally and in writing with parents throughout the year and during parent-teacher conferences.\
  • Attend all staff meeting and in-service training as required. Maintain CPR and First Aid certifications.\
  • Attending parent and parent-child events related to the program.\
  • Participate in YMCA volunteer programs.\
  • Continuing professional development through community involvement, reading, and further education.\
  • Assuming any other duties as directed by the YMCA administration or Director.

Requirements:
\
  • Bachelors Degree or Associates Degree actively working towards a Bachelors\
  • Lead teacher certification through the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC)\
  • Active Professional Qualifications Registry\
  • Completion of Strong Start Training through EEC\
