Candidates should have experience delivering content across the curriculum, including (but not limited to) Language Arts, Social Studies, Math, and Science. The ideal candidate will be able to provide meaningful and creative instruction to a diverse group of students in a hands-on, experiential learning environment. The ability to provide lessons using differentiated instruction is a must. The candidate must be flexible and enjoy teaching. Experience and willingness to work as part of a team is required and is essential to the success of this position. This position reports to the K-6 Team Lead.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution (Masters Degree preferred) A minimum of three years successful experience with age group Satisfactory criminal background check Experience with Wilson FUNdations a plus Duties and Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to): Provide meaningful and creative instruction to a diverse group of students in a hands-on, experiential learning environment Ability to adapt curriculum to the needs of students and to accommodate circumstances where a variety of projects are being worked on simultaneously Significant use of technology while delivering the curriculum and content, including (but not limited to): Use of the Google Suite across multiple devices; and Use of Student Information Systems (Alma) Respect and value individual differences and diversity; model non-discriminatory practices in all activities Evaluate academic and social growth of students and keep appropriate records while communicating with students and parents on student progress Maintain standards of student behavior for a positive and productive learning environment Collaborate with peers to develop curriculum, plan activities, and monitor student progress Work with a team of educators to create a positive learning environment Adhere to policies and procedures as outlined in theEmployee Handbook Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of child growth and development and especially of characteristics of students/children in the age group assigned Knowledge of prescribed curriculum Basic understanding and knowledge of current technology Knowledge of learning styles Ability to use varied teaching methods Ability to handle problems, concerns and emotional distress with sensitivity and tact Ability to communicate orally and in writing with students, parents, and others Ability to plan, establish priorities and implement activities for maximum effectiveness Ability to assess levels of student achievement effectively, analyze test results, and prescribe actions for improvement Ability to work with parents Ability to work effectively with peers, administrators and others Ability to work with other content area teachers to maintain and order materials Flexibility in all areas including (but not limited to): Content delivery methods; Assessment methods; Coursework requirements as applied to individual students on a case by case basis Working with other teachers to provide curriculum connections appropriate for both grade level and ability level.Specific Training/Skills:
Google Level 1 Educator certification may be required for first year teachers Google Level 2 Educator certification may be required for returning teachers A Massachusetts teaching certificate is a plus, but not required.
