Immediately Job Description Elementary ESY Special Education Teacher•Substantially Separate Programs (15) Waltham Public Schools is seeking dedicated Special Educators to lead our elementary Substantially Separate ESY programs. Candidates must hold a valid license in Severe Special Needs (Moderate license may be considered with significant experience in severe settings). These programs serve students with significant developmental, communication, and cognitive disabilities who require a highly individualized and predictable summer routine to prevent regression. The ideal candidate will have expertise in one or more of the following areas: providing specialized instruction and social-emotional support to a variety of students, including students with Autism, multiple impairments, emotional and behavioral disabilities, and similar profiles which require instruction within a self-contained environment. Responsibilities include implementing modified academic curricula and programming tailored to the specific needs of each program's cohort. A critical component of this role involves the implementation of individualized plans and the consistent collection of data on IEP benchmarks. Beyond direct instruction, the teacher will oversee all aspects of the classroom environment. Administrative duties include reviewing student records to ensure service compliance, managing daily classroom schedules, and maintaining proactive, supportive communication with Waltham families. The teacher will also finalize participation summary reports for each student at the conclusion of the session.

8:15 am•1:45 pm (plus one hour of daily planning)
Compensation:
$40.00 per hour |

$5,600.00 (inclusive of 20 session days and 10 hours of dedicated pre•and post-program administrative work) Non•
