Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Make a lasting impact by supporting students with visual impairments in the Baltimore area as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired through a contract position for the 2026-2027 school year. This onsite opportunity offers a unique blend of in-person instruction and virtual participation in IEP meetings, allowing you to prioritize student engagement while streamlining administrative requirements. Positions begin August 31, 2026, and continue through June 17, 2027, with full-time and part-time schedules available.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Valid Maryland teaching certificate with a Vision endorsement (MSDE required) Proficiency in Braille strongly preferred; placement will be tailored to skillset Experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments in educational settings Comfortable delivering services across a cluster of assigned schools Strong communication skills for collaborating with IEP teams virtually and onsite Completion of all mandated district background checks and fingerprinting (per HB 486) Must provide required licensure documentation during credentialing Ability to adapt instruction to individual student needs and strengths
