Category Schools - Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist Job Type Contract A school in Newark, MD is seeking a skilled Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist to provide support during a teacher's leave of absence. This contract position offers an opportunity to work within an educational environment dedicated to meeting the needs of students with hearing impairments.
Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction and support for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure accessibility and inclusion Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs Utilize appropriate teaching methods and assistive technologies to enhance learning Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records Communicate effectively with students, families, and school personnel regarding student performance and needsQualifications and Experience:
Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Experience teaching Deaf / Hard of Hearing students in school settings Knowledge of sign language and related communication modalities is highly desirable Strong classroom management and instructional skills Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environmentLocation:
Newark, MD This contract role is ideal for an educator looking to make an immediate impact while a current teacher is on leave. The position provides a chance to apply specialized skills in supporting students with hearing impairments within a school community.
