Special Ed Teacher

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract A full-time Special Education Resource Teacher role is available in a school setting located in Gardiner, ME. This position focuses on supporting students in grades 3-5 through specialized instruction in reading, writing, and math. The ideal candidate will manage and educate a diverse group of 20 students while serving as the case manager for 15 students, including those with speech-only services.

Key responsibilities include:

Delivering individualized instruction in reading, writing, and math to students requiring special education support. Managing and coordinating education plans for 15 students, ensuring their diverse needs are met, including those with speech-only support. Collaborating with general education teachers and support staff to foster an inclusive learning environment. Monitoring student progress and adjusting teaching strategies to maximize educational outcomes. Maintaining detailed records and documentation in compliance with special education regulations.

Preferred qualifications and experience:

Certification in Special Education. Experience teaching grades 3-5. Strong knowledge of individualized education program (IEP) development and implementation. Effective communication and organizational skills. Ability to engage and motivate students with varying learning needs. This contract position offers a Monday through Friday schedule, providing consistency and a structured school week.
