Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Assignment Dates:

- Monday
- Friday
- Classes run from 8:30 AM
- 3:30 PM
- Teachers are expected to report 10 minutes prior to the start of the school day and remain 10 minutes after dismissal
- Half days dismiss at 11:30 AM
- 35+
Hours Per Week Caseload Details:
- K-2 Cross-Categorical Classroom
- Classroom capped at 15 students
- 3 paraprofessionals assigned to classroom support
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction aligned with student IEP goals
- Manage and support an elementary special education caseload
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and school staff
- Maintain IEP compliance, progress monitoring, and documentation
- Foster a structured, safe, and supportive classroom environment
- Utilize AAC supports and communication tools as needed within the classroom setting
Requirements:
- Active Michigan Special Education Certification required
- Elementary SPED experience preferred
- Experience working within cross-categorical settings preferred
- Familiarity with AAC iPad devices preferred
- Experience using TD Snap platform preferred
Additional Details:
- Teacher receives one duty-free uninterrupted 40-minute lunch period daily
