We are seeking a special education teacher to join our team at Bath Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year. Required Qualifications:
Meet the State of Michigan certification requirements to teach special education in elementary or secondary resource room programs. Demonstrate the desire and ability to build meaningful, caring relationships with students. Demonstrate the ability to create and execute clear, logical instructional plans that produce strong results in student learning. Demonstrate the ability to evaluate academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports. Duties, Responsibilities, and Expectations:
Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that meet the curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles. Develop assessments and evaluate student performance through various methods, including tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations. Develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans and use evidence based practices to positively support student behavior Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs Utilize CPI training to de-escalate and support students Deliver direct instruction to students in various settings, including one-on-one, small group, and co-taught classrooms, using evidence-based strategies tailored to students' learning profiles Provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities, including academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions Collaborate with general education teachers and other school staff to ensure that students with special needs are included in all aspects of school life Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction and interventions as needed Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and services provided Stay up-to-date on best practices and research related to special education and disabilities Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to contribute to the overall mission of the institution Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and school staff Regular and predictable attendance Application Process:
